Here are a few clues:
1) They were big in the mid-90s
2) They had a mild hit in 1999 with a song about anorexia
3) They aren’t from the U.S.
Answer is after the jump!
It’s Silverchair! Isn’t it insane how unrecognizeable they are? I remember listening to “Frogstomp” in 1995 and thinking about how lead singer Daniel Johns was going to be the next Kurt Cobain. They sort of slowly faded after “Neon Ballroom,” but little did I know that they remained huge in their native land of Australia. Twelve years later, their new album “Young Modern” has now become their fastest selling album to date and is scheduled to drop in the U.S. on July 24th. (via AOL)
Check out their new single “Straight Lines.” It’s actually not too shabby.
