Instead of sitting at home watching every single Live Earth performance, I decided to spend my weekend watching Transformers, Knocked Up and spending my money frivolously on food and … well, more food. I thought to myself, come Monday, someone will post YouTube highlights of the big environmental music extravaganza for all to watch. And sure enough Stereogum did just that for everyone who decided to spend their weekends not in front ot their TV.
Here’s my favorite performance. It’s Madonna doing “La Isla Bonita” with Eugene and Serge of Gogol Bordello. How can you not love the queen of pop? Oh yeah, she’s a cocky, self-righteous, high-maintenance diva. But seriously, only she could pull off a gypsy version of her 80s Spanish style hit with two geezers and with more energy than her back-up dancers, who are








Live Earth was a noble idea, but how many years of pollution did they contribute in just that one day they had the festivals?
