The butt, the bottom, the derriere, the rump, my humps or the booty. Call it what you want but it’s undeniable that this part of the body is the most written about in dance songs. And if you don’t have a jam to shake it, move it, grind it, or pop it to, then you can’t dance. So here is a list of my top 10 booty worshipping songs.
10. “Get Low” by Lil Jon and the East Side Boyz - “Get Low” is dirty, raunchy and exactly what a song about the booty should be. Lil Jon and the East Side boyz biggest hit had dancefloors gyrating to this jam. It made everyone “turn it, shake it, pop it, back it up, wiggle it, bend over to touch their toes to get low. It was like a buns of steel DVD.
9. “Daisy Dukes” by Duice - This old school hit paid homage to the infamous Dukes of Hazzard bottoms that made butt cheeks a hot accessory.
8. “Donkey Butt” by 12 Gauge - Waaay raunchy for it’s time, “Donkey Butt” was as unabashed as you can get. Ain’t no shame in 12 Gauge’s game.

7. “Big Ole Butt” by LL Cool J - This song brought the rear end to the forefront in this late 80s hit about dumping a girl for not having the right booty.
6. “Bootylicious” by Desinty’s Child - Got a big butt? Be proud! This song had everyone proud of their jelly and “bootylicious” became a permanent part of our vocabulary. So, if this isn’t a song about butt empowerment, I don’t know what is.

3. “Back that thang up” by Juvenile - When Lil Wayne was lil known, he got dancefloors bouncing with Juvenile.

I was 12 and thought “All I wanna do is zoom a zoom zoom zoom and a boom boom” was just funny gibberish. Then I saw the video, realized what “rump” was and loved it even more.

The man stands atop giant butt-like hills while comparing a woman’s backside to food. He likes big butts and he cannot lie. And to this day, the phrase “Baby got back” is still ingrained in our butt-shaped brains. Without him there’d be no Apple Bottom Jeans, or this list. Thank You Sir Mix A lot for changing music forever.
