‘Across the Universe’ will be across the universe

So NASA has just announced that they will broadcast the Beatles’ “Across thebeatles41.jpg Universe” across the universe. Well, ok, technically across the galaxy. I apologize, I’ve caught the pun virus from the Associated Press. It seems like the guys at AP couldn’t help using Beatles lyrics to deliver a hard news story.

The song, written by McCartney and John Lennon, may have a ticket to ride and will be flying at the speed of light. But it will take 431 years along a long and winding road to reach its final destination. That

Gondry, McCartney, Portman team up

The new Michel Gondry-directed video for Paul McCartney’s “Dance Tonight” features Natalie Portman and Mackenzie Crook from The Office (UK version) and Pirates of the Caribbean.  Crook plays a delivery man who delivers a mandolin to McCartney’s country house. Natalie Portman plays a ghost that pops out of the mandolin box, which basically causes all hell to break loose. Watch for yourself. It reminds me of Gondry’s White Stripes video for “Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground.”
