MTV Video Music Awards 2008: Kanye West performs new song

September 7th, 2008, 9:21 pm by Crystal Olvera

Kanye performed a new different song called “Love Lockdown.” I can’t hate on Kanye. The man is brilliant but I was expecting him to go all out here and he failed to bring forth the awesomeness. It’s great, you can sing Ye, but we’d like to hear something a little less solemn. You gotta do what you do best if you’re going to close out the show. Am I right? Check out “Love Lockdown” below.

MTV Video Music Awards 2008: Christina Aguilera

September 7th, 2008, 9:14 pm by Crystal Olvera

Christina performed the new single “It Keeps Gettin’ Better” off her greatest hits record. Sounds like Kylie Minogue and a Goldfrapp had a huge influence on Xtina this time around. Who knew the synth sound went well with her powerful vocals? This was definitely one of the better performances of the night.

September 7th, 2008, 8:42 pm by Crystal Olvera

The Jonas Brothers started off with a rather tame performance on a Sesame Street-like neighborhood that later exploded into a block party. Fangirls crowded the streets and the brothers rocked out on stage.

MTV Video Music Awards 2008: Rihanna performs “Disturbia”

September 7th, 2008, 8:35 pm by Crystal Olvera

Rihanna channeled Marilyn Manson in her MTV Video Music Awards performance with new single “Disturbia.” She also threw in a bit of The White Stripes riff from “Seven Nation Army.” It made for a rocking opening performance.
