The Killers make up for the lifeless “Tranquilizer” with
Archive for the 'The Killers' CategoryNew Video: ‘Tranquilizer’ by The KillersNovember 8th, 2007, 9:44 pm by Crystal OlveraArgh! I’m having one of those moments — one of those moments when you come across a song that you despise from a band you normally enjoy. The new Killer’s single Killers get cooky “For Reasons Unkown”May 22nd, 2007, 8:07 pm by Crystal OlveraSo I realize that basically everyone hated The Killers’ “Sam’s Town” and it was deemed a dud by critics everywhere. I realize that there’s only 5 people in the world that actually listened to it more than once, and that probably consists of The Killers and me. I realize that yes, this one didn’t live up to its predecessor. I realize that because they decided to use Bruce Springsteen as an influence instead of New Order is what lead to their imminent downfall. I know all of that! But come on people, there were a few decent tunes on the album that weren’t exactly terrible. Sure they were mediocre, and maybe none of them could match up to “Smile Like You Mean It,” but “For Reasons Unknown,” tugged at my heart a little and I can’t help but sing the chorus at the top of my lungs in the car sometimes. So I was happy to find that they made a video for it.
Too bad it’s a complete bore! Why?! Why must you continue with the old west theme, guys? You all looked fabulous in your vintage suits and glam-rock lighting! Why must you continue to think you’re rugged cowboys? Just stop it with the horses and the cactus! Go back to being fabulous! Good Charlotte can’t danceMay 16th, 2007, 1:41 pm by Crystal OlveraI know this is slowly turning into a video blog, but can you blame me? All these new releases and so much to critique! This time it’s Good Charlotte’s “Dance Floor Anthem.” Where do I begin? First of all, I’m a rabid Killers fan. I’m one of those people that will buy anything they record and that includes Brandon Flowers going country. And while I realize imitation is a form of flattery, in this case, it’s a form of abuse, which is why I ask, when did Good Charlotte decide to become The Killers? I realize GC is trying their very best to stay relevant but don’t be something you’re not, especially if you can’t do it right! We know yourfaux-punkness is aching to write another “Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous.”So stop it with this dance-rock schtick and leave it to the professionals!
